日暮里駅をおりて、谷中って言う町に行ってきました。 昔ながらの下町で、東京もまだこんな街が残ってるのか～って感じました。最近は新しいビルとかふえたけど、こうやって昔ながらの下町の方が私は好きだなー沢山小さいお店があって、職人さんが今でも仕事をしているのが嬉しかったです。
Recently, we went to a town near Ueno called Yanaka. This town is known for it's traditional crafts and skilled artisans. There are a lot of little shops there, and virtually no malls or chain restaraunts.
ここ谷中に来た目的は谷中コーヒーを買いに来た事！ リーのアメリカにいる両親の為、おいしいコーヒーをクリスマスプレゼントすることにしましたここはコーヒー豆をその場でローストしてくれるので、おいしいコーヒーが飲めるんだ。 待ってる間コーヒーを頂いてのんびり！
This is Yanaka Coffee Shop. We went here to buy coffee beans for Lee's mom. Notice the beans in the picture are green. This is because they haven't been roasted yet. The folks at Yanaka roast the beans before your eyes (takes about 20 minutes). Meanwhile they serve you fresh coffee on the house. Have you ever had coffee that was just roasted a few minutes ago? It's good.
帰りは日暮里には帰らず、上野駅を目指して歩いて帰りました。 上野から日暮里っているルートはあまり歩かないともおもうけど、意外と新しい発見があって面白いお散歩コースですよー！

After bumming around Yanaka, we walked to Ueno (takes about 20-30 minutes). This is a picture of Ueno Park.
